Joburg's botched business breakfast

Johannesburg business owners and members of a range of chambers where served ‘Smarties’ for breakfast at a botched event hosted by the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) on Friday.


When the Metro’s Finance MMC Geoffrey Makhubu arrived about 30 minutes late, he was prepared for the wrong topic of discussion.


The invitation to the event, sent out by the Johannesburg Department of Economic Development, invited Johannesburg’s business chambers to join the MMC to “discuss the City’s future financial plans”.
