Pnet acquires Jobs.co.za
PNet.co.za, an online recruitment service provider owned by Saongroup.com, has acquired Jobs.co.za for an undisclosed sum.
Saongroup.com has offices in 19 countries across four continents and operates online recruitment websites for recruiters and career seekers in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Europe, China, South Africa, Africa, Central America and the Caribbean.
The group says this latest acquisition further strengthens its position in the South African market.
The Jobs.co.za business will continue to operate independently while rapidly growing its customer base and strengthening relationships with existing customers, Saongroup.com said.
Founded in 1997, Pnet says it has over 1,200,000 (over 250,000 added in the last 9 months) professional job seekers and more than 8,600 recruiters.
Saongroup.com Africa MD, Greig Smith said: “The acquisition allows saongroup.com Africa to compete in a segment of the South African market where it hasn’t traditionally had a presence. In addition, Jobs.co.za will benefit by the added support and expertise offered by saongroup.com and PNet.co.za.”
Richard Strydom has been appointed as the general manager of Jobs.co.za. “Richard brings a wealth of experience to the table and is firmly committed to ensuring the success of Jobs.co.za in the South African Job portal market,” said Greig. “The company was launched in 1997, and currently holds a database of over 500,000 job seekers.”
According to PNet.co.za, technology enhancements will be implemented to ensure an improved user experience on Jobs.co.za, along with a renewed focus on driving the right candidate traffic to the site, to ensure clients have access to quality candidates.
