MTN SA has announced the appointment of Zunaid Bulbulia, the company’s chief financial officer since 2005, to the position of acting chief enterprise business officer with immediate effect.
According to MTN SA, Bulbulia is taking the helm of a new business unit that will see ICT convergence become a reality for enterprise customers across South Africa. Bulbulia will continue to manage our company finances and, effectively, will have a dual role, the group said.
Angela Gahagan-Thompson, managing director of MTN Business, has left the group to pursue business interests outside of the company. Gahagan–Thomson joined MTN SA in 2010 as executive MTN Business, where she was responsible for pursuing strategic business development opportunities.
“MTN South Africa strives to continually keep abreast of advancements in its approach on ICT convergence while maintaining alignment to MTN Group to ensure that the solutions it provides enhance customer experience.
This advancement is guided by a number of factors such as our continued drive to maintain a competitive edge and unremitting pursuit of operational excellence.
To sustain our momentum with operational challenges in an increasingly competitive environment, MTN SA has reviewed its operating structures with a view to improving organisational effectiveness.
As a member of MTN EXCO, Gahagan-Thompson contributed to the development of the MTN Business. “MTN wishes her well in her business pursuits.”
