I’m not stealing public money – but I know who is: Zuma

 ·20 Nov 2016

President Jacob Zuma has told supporters that he isn’t the one stealing money from state coffers, but he knows who is – while admitting that he has done nothing to stop them.

This is according to a report by the Sunday Times, quoting Zuma while he was speaking to supporters in Pietermaritzburg.

In his address, Zuma reportedly said that while various parties are investigating him and looking into his affiars, “they are finding nothing because I’m not doing anything”.

According to Zuma, the real culprits are some of those who are saying that he is a thief, while they are the ones strealing – he knows this, because he said he was watching them do it.

“I know they are stealing. I’m just watching them. I know them,” he said.

In response to Zuma’s statements, DA leader Mmusi Maimane said that the president was ‘spitting on the constitution’ by openly admitting that there was illegal activity going on and doing absolutely nothing to stop it from happening.

Maimane said he would take the matter the Hawks this coming week – to add to the case it’s already building when it laid charges against the president regarding the Public Protector’s state capture report.
