SA payment app SnapScan launches new design

 ·6 Jul 2017

Three years after its official launch in May 2014, South Africa’s mobile payments app, SnapScan is releasing a new app design this week.

The app’s developers are hoping that the new design will pave the way for an expanded product offering.

SnapScan merchant network has expanded from a few hundred to nearly 40,000 businesses across South Africa.

Most recently, SnapScan launched its new in-app bill payment functionality, offering users an easy way to pay DStv subscriptions, purchase BoxOffice titles and pay SABC licence fees, with more billers being added continually.

In the new design, these types of features are easy to explore, embedded next to the main ‘Scan’ button on the app’s home page, the group said.

SnapScan added that its users can expect future updates to build on the new template, continually adding new ways and places to pay, while also making key incremental improvements to the core offering, based on user feedback.
