Market research firm Lightstone has provided data and analysis to evaluate trends and segmentation within the property sector in South Africa – revealing the most expensive estates in Gauteng, as well as those that have shown the biggest price growth.
Lightstone’s analysis includes the data of 7.9 million registered properties across the country; 6.5 million of which is residential properties valued at R5 trillion.
Analysing estates in Gauteng shows the highest median value at Clouds End in Morningside, Sandton with an average value of R18.2 million. Estates in Sandton dominate the list, with Blair Atholl Estate near Lanseria Airport rounding out the top six at an average price of R11.2 million.
High growth estates include estates mostly located in North Joburg, led by Willow Grove in Witkoppen (16.7%), and rounded out by Oudebosch Estate in Broadacres.
