Western Digital appoints SA country manager

 ·16 Jan 2012

Global hard-drive manufacturer, Western Digital, has appointed Anamika Budree as the country manager for South Africa, as the group looks to expand further into the country.

The position will create a vendor presence in the country for Western Digital, and provide a platform for greater penetration into the local market.

The position highlights WD’s expansion plans, which include growing its retail business – through both franchise and independent retailers – while introducing training and marketing initiatives to grow WD’s brand presence in South Africa.

“Apart from growing our existing business, we also want to tap into new markets,” said Budree in a statement. “The retail space is growing in leaps and bounds for WD in the South African market, and we aim to continue this momentum.”
