Datacentrix in Cape Town ISP purchase

Datacentrix, the listed IT solutions provider has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of  internet service and networks specialist, eNetworks.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

eNetworks was established in 1999 and provides bandwidth and internet services including cloud hosting, web hosting and VoIP.

Based in Cape Town, the company has core infrastructure located in data centres in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

The group also boasts expertise in WAN services, internet access provisioning,
security, and e-mail systems.

By way of rationale for the acquisition Datacentrix, says it aims to grow and enhance its cloud computing capabilities.

“The acquisition provides Datacentrix access to highly skilled resources, electronic communications networks and licences, thereby strengthening Datacentrix´ capability to build, operate and provide network services,” the group said.

All conditions of the purchase need to be fulfilled by no later than September 30, 2013.
