Management change at Huge Telecom
Listed managed telecoms provider, Huge Telecom on Thursday announced the resignation of Rajen Pillay, MD of Huge Business Support – a division of the group.
Dave Deetlefs will take over from Pillay, who will pursue business interests in Durban. Deetlefs was formerly CFO and CEO at Glocell.
Huge Telecom CEO, James Herbst said: “Rajen’s departure was unfortunately inevitable after he decided to relocate his family last year. We discussed the issue at length at that stage and Huge Telecom counts itself fortunate to have benefited from his service for as long as it has. I for one am indebted to Rajen for giving me the extra time to make alternative plans.”
“We employed Dave in a consulting position in November last year to allow him to get a good feel of the business and slowly facilitate the handover process. Rajen and I have worked closely together over the last few months to ensure this transition is as seamless as possible. Dave’s understanding of the industry is exceptional,” Herbst said.
The company head said that Huge is actively building a far wider distribution network than it has in the past, whilst also adding some exciting new items to its product stable.
Pillay remains a director of Huge Telecom until its financial year end in February, and has agreed to consult to the company as required for the foreseeable future, Huge concluded.
