Mweb Business has appointed Debbie Pretorius as general manager to take over from Andre Joubert, who stepped down in August to take up a position at Neotel.

Pretorius has worked in the Internet Service Provider (ISP) industry for the past 15 years, and most recently headed up Mweb Business’ operational activities, the comnpany said.

Pretorius was responsible for customer support and engineering and technical services as well as project management, service level management and operational support services.

“We are extremely fortunate to have a person with Debbie’s experience and expertise in providing solutions to the Small and Medium Businesses of South Africa heading up our Business division,” said Mweb CEO Derek Hershaw.

“Having joined Mweb Business as a financial controller in 1998, Debbie has played a significant role in the division’s growth over the years. Her intimate understanding of all aspects of the business and the broader market will ensure continuity for our customers.”
