SAS Viya now available through Microsoft Azure marketplace
Leading data analytics software provider SAS announced at its Explore event that its Viya platform is now available on the Microsoft Azure marketplace.
SAS Viya on the Azure marketplace is a full analytics life cycle offering that is ideal for any organisation which needs to spin up or spin down its analytics use for a specific project.
“We’re excited to offer customers a new way to gain access to SAS Viya while continuing to provide all the powerful capabilities our users already know and love,” said SAS CEO Jim Goodnight.
“We’ve spent decades building the most comprehensive suite of analytics on the market, with next-generation AI that addresses the complete analytics life cycle.”
“We design and test our software to be the fastest and most productive. And now we’re making it all available with a few clicks in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.”
Alice McClure, Director of Product Marketing at SAS, said this expansion makes Viya available to more potential customers.
“Our new Azure-based offering is a great way for new customers to use and get started with the Viya platform,” said McClure.
“It makes it easy for small to medium-sized businesses to have a quick means of accessing valuable analytics.”
Users will be billed at a unit price of $0.55, per hour based on the vCPU clusters they use.
“Our pricing model allows customers to only pay for what they need, when they need it,” said McClure.
SAS Viya on Microsoft Azure marketplace
McClure explained that SAS Viya on the Microsoft Azure marketplace will encompass a full suite of SAS solutions, including:
- SAS Visual Analytics
- SAS Visual Statistics
- SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning
- SAS Model Manager
- SAS Studio Analyst
- SAS Information Governance
- SAS Econometrics
- SAS Optimization
There will also be add-in functionality for tools like Microsoft Office, SAS/ACCESS, SAS Data Preparation, SAS/QC, and SAS/CONNECT.
Clients will choose the solution directly through the Azure marketplace and Viya will then be provisioned as an automated deployment.
Once you have installed SAS Viya, you will be greeted with a welcome screen and given access to quick-build example videos, how-to guides, and various educational and documentation resources.
There is also a dedicated SAS community website with a vast range of resources and a technical support monitoring community site that provides further assistance to users.
SAS Viya on the Microsoft Azure marketplace is then available across dozens of countries, including South Africa, and offers in-app language translation.
Additionally, it integrates a broad range of open-source technologies which allow all types of SAS and open-source users to collaborate.
