Telkom reshuffles its exco
Telkom has released its integrated report for full year 2014, revealing that it has once again shuffled its executive committee.
Telkom Mobile MD, Attila Vitai, and MD for consumer services and retail, Manelisa Mavuso, are no longer part of the group’s executive officers, according to the report.
It is understood that these roles will now be integrated into the new structure, with specific aspects (retail, technology, operations) being handled by the respective prescribed officer.
The move comes as Telkom pushes its “all-IP” strategy to be a fully converged service provider, offering services from all its departments under one “umbrella” Telkom brand.
This forms part of the group’s medium- to long-term restructuring strategy which is part of an overall group turn-around plan, which includes flattening managerial and specialist structures, and an overall reduction in headcount.
It was previously reported that Telkom is looking to cut around a third of its workforce over the next 5 years in an attempt to decrease costs by R1 billion per year.
