The quickest and easiest ways to make payments this festive season

 ·19 Dec 2022

The festive season is known for high spending as people look to take some much-needed time out with their loved ones and get a break from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day responsibilities.

With this comes a lot of money movements with consumers looking to spend, send money and pay for activities synonymous with this festive time.

To provide safe, convenient and cashless payment options for its customers, FNB recently launched Instant Payments – a first in South Africa solution that enables FNB and RMB Private Bank customers to send money to family and friends by simply entering their bank card number.

No bank name, branch code, CVV or expiry date is required; remember FNB will never ask you to share your CVV number for any transaction.

FNB customers enjoy free Instant Payments when paying other FNB customers and can pay all participating banks’ customers immediately for as little as R7. FNB Private Wealth Bundle customers benefit from free FNB Instant Payments, regardless of the bank being paid.

To make an Instant payment on the FNB App, Select Pay > Pay > Instant Payment> Enter the recipient’s card number, amount and reference detail.

Another way FNB customers can save time this holiday is avoiding queues by paying their bills on the  FNB App – no need for multiple apps. Bill Payments provides a secure, quick and convenient way for FNB customers to use the FNB App to pay your municipal rates and taxes, electricity and other bills.

FNB customers can now maximise rewards by using their FNB Virtual Card or FNB Card, instead of making an EFT payment.  FNB Bill payments only requires a service provider reference number, and there is no need to capture your card details or service provider account details.

Multiple bills can be located and paid on the trusted FNB platform and there is no need for the customer to have multiple apps – offering complete control over outstanding bills and payments.

To make a Bill Payment on the FNB App, Select Pay > Bills > Search payment request > Select the bill payment provider > Enter the bill reference number and amount.

FNB Retail Payments Head, Sashin Sookroo says, “We are proud to pioneer with new payment solutions that simplify the customer experience, reduce information required for payments and enable all transactions on a single trusted platform, the FNB App.”

“Our secure and convenient payment solutions are ideal for customers who need to make immediate payments to family and friends, pay bills, purchase goods and services, or send money to loved ones.”
