Vodacom Business will aggressively target the small and medium business market with a new range of connectivity, communication and hosted services.

Gary Hart, executive head of managed network services at Vodacom Business, told MyBroadband BusinessTech that new unified communications and cloud products, will significantly reduce the cost of communications and IT for SMEs.

Hart revealed that Vodacom Business will launch “One Net Business” soon, which offers a single calling plan to business’ desk phones, and mobile users.

“You can automatically receive calls to land-line numbers on your mobile phones, with no divert charges or any other associated costs,” said Hart.

Hart said that their new unified communications products, like One Net, will, for example, make it possible for companies to place users in groups, where all in-group calls, including mobile calls, will be free.

Hart added that their focus is not only on reducing the cost of communications, but also to boost productivity through services like video conferencing and hosted IT services (like office on a box).

Janine Rebelo, executive head of access services at Vodacom Business, said that businesses can expect new access services from them – including wireless (Wi-Fi) and fibre products.

Vodacom Business’ carrier grade Wi-Fi products will use 5.8GHz spectrum, providing clients with reliable, high-speed connections.

Vodacom Business is also planning to roll out their own fibre network – to provide businesses with high-speed fixed line connections.
