Joburg billboard slams “useless” Cell C
Cell C is trying to resolve a dispute with a customer who erected an outdoor advertising banner with the message: “The most useless service provider in SA – Cell C Sandton City”.
The banner was placed on the fence of a large shopping centre and names the franchise manager – saying that his “unnamed executive head refuses to assist the customer”.
Google StreetView identifies the location of the banner as World Wear shopping centre on Beyers Naude drive, close to the N1.
Many people commented on the banner on social media, which included: “Cell C can you feel the burn #badservice #loveit”, and “CellC – one of your customers thinks you are not so #EPIC right now”.
Cell C confirmed that banner was put up by one of its customers.
“We can confirm that there is a dispute between Cell C and the customer responsible for the banner and we are attempting to resolve the matter,” Cell C said.
