The City Press reported that President Jacob Zuma, his cabinet and members of parliament do not experience load shedding.

According to the newspaper two neighbourhoods – Bryntirion Estate in Pretoria and the parliamentary village of Acacia Park in Cape Town – did not experience load shedding.

Bryntirion Estate in Pretoria is home of the official residence of Zuma – called Mahlamba Ndlopfu.

The Tshwane metro said that the Bryntirion Estate cannot be load shedded because it was “low voltage and can’t be switched on and off remotely”.

The Cape Town metro said that they have only “limited access” to the substation that supplied power to Acacia Park.

The full report is available in the City Press of 14 December 2014.
