Could selling on Amazon.co.za be the next step for your business?

 ·15 Oct 2026

Amazon.co.za has removed up to 80% of its marketplace selling fees, making now the best time to start selling your products on its marketplace.

The offer is so good that prominent media personality Somizi has listed his own products on Amazon.co.za.

“Here’s what I want you to do: List your products, prepare your stock, and run your deals,” said Somizi.

“Get ready for more, get ready for growth – start selling with Amazon South Africa.”

You can list your own products just like Somizi – watch the video below to find out more about Somizi’s experience.

Affordable fees on Amazon South Africa

Rather than charging sellers to find out whether the channel works, Amazon.co.za prefers to invest alongside its sellers.

“For sellers, the question shouldn’t be whether they can afford to sell on Amazon. It should be whether they can afford not to,” said Suzelle Abe, the Head of Amazon Marketplace in Sub-Saharan Africa.

“We’ve deliberately lowered the barriers so entrepreneurs can test, learn and grow. We invest alongside our sellers.”

The current fee structure is extremely affordable. It includes a R1 per month Professional selling fee (usually R400 per month – until 31 March 2027), a flat 5% referral fee, zero pick, pack and storage fees with Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA) until 31 March 2027, and up to 90% of your inbound shipping to FBA covered when using 2Ship (until 31 December 2026).

As a result, sellers can now list a catalogue, ship it into Amazon’s fulfilment network, and sell through Prime with close to no fixed cost until March 2027, paying only 5% on what actually sells.

“Built for South African entrepreneurs, our fee structure is designed so you can test, learn and grow – without the financial risk,” said Abe.

“We’ve removed up to 80% of our selling fees, because your success on our marketplace is our success.”

Product discovery and registration

With FBA, sales and delivery become extremely easy for South African sellers – all you must do is send your stock to Amazon.co.za, and it will handle the rest.

That includes the storage, picking, packing, delivery, returns, and any associated customer service.

These listings are also eligible for Amazon Prime, giving sellers an average of 3x more sales.

The best performing sellers use FBA, because it provides consumers with faster delivery, easier returns for the seller, and access to Prime.

Amazon’s top-performing sellers also have disciplined inventory management, list their full catalogue, and run sponsored ads for visibility and deal conversion.

Here are the six steps to start selling on Amazon.co.za:
