Standard Bank has acknowledged that it is experiencing technical errors in its system which is preventing customers from drawing money.

On Thursday (28 March 2012) Standard Bank banking customers reported that, although they were unable to receive money from ATMs, they received SMSs indicating that the transaction had gone through.

“@StandardBankGrp Why is everyone having problems with their cash today? You have a BIG issue in your hands. ATMS charge but don’t dispense,” said Twitter user, Kgotso K.

Taking to Twitter, the bank apologised to customers and stated that it was looking into fixing the problem, promising that “everything should be back online in a few minutes.”
