Routed co-founder appointed as ISPA director
Malcolm Siegel, co-founder of Routed, a neutral cloud infrastructure provider, has been appointed to the board of The Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA).
He previously served as an ISPA member since 2011, in a role within the INX working group management committee.
“ISPA has influenced and shaped telecommunications policy in South Africa since 1996, and I am excited to be playing a more committed role in the association. Innovation within this sector is at an all-time high and I am really energised to be closer to the coalface,” Siegel said.
Outlining the key challenges moving forward, Siegel said that the regulation of voice termination rates; FTTH and how to deliver it cost effectively, cloud adoption and ways to speed up movement into the cloud, are some of the significant challenges faced by the industry.
