Four-time majors champion Ernie Els joined US President Donald Trump, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for a round of golf at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, on the weekend.
The South African, a former world number one, has his primary residence in south Florida.
Reporters were banned from the course as the three shared a round together. Abe was in the US this week to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Trump said in a tweet on Saturday evening: Played golf today with Prime Minister Abe of Japan and @TheBig_Easy, Ernie Els, and had a great time. Japan is very well represented!
In January, Els took to Twitter to congratulate Trump following his inauguration, tweeting: “Congrats President Trump!!! Good Vibrations @realDonaldTrump.”
