Business Talk – In conversation with Woolworths head of online & mobile, Liz Hillock

Liz Hillock is head of online & mobile at Woolworths where she has led the retailer’s e-commerce team, digital marketing, as well as the MySchool, MyVillage, and MyPlanet loyalty programmes over the past five years.

Prior to that, she was head of digital, overseeing the digital transformation and digital strategy at Woolworths.

Hillock  has also served as an ecommerce consultant in the education space, and served as marketing & customer support director at Kalahari.com, before it merged with Takealot.com.

Hillock studied at Rhodes University, obtaining a bachelor of commerce: Management, Industrial Psychology. She also attended the Institute of Futures Research, Stellenbosch Business School, where she obtained a MPhil Futures Studies degree (Cum Laude), followed by a postgraduate diploma in Futures Studies (Cum Laude).

On this episode of Business Talk, Hillock talks through the the progress of Woolies Dash, the group’s same-day delivery service launched as a trial at the end of last year. She also discusses how the pandemic has ramped up the move to online – with mobile across all departments showing ‘astonishing’ growth.

Hillock also underscores Woolworth’s ethical journey, and the shift in consumer behaviour post-lockdown.
