While working at Liberty, she has played an instrumental role in multiple landmark transactions, including Standard Bank’s acquisition of Liberty and the Liberty Two Degrees buyout.

Perumal boasts over two decades of experience working in the financial services industry, having held leadership roles in legal, corporate affairs, stakeholder management, and business development.

Prior to joining Liberty in 2005, she worked as Company Secretary and Head of Legal and Compliance at Swiss Re Africa.

Perumal holds a Master of Laws and a Certificate in Finance and Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the University of the Free State, and both a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
