MTN launches R99 unlimited cloud storage
MTN has launched a cloud storage service that will provide customers with unlimited storage capacity across a range of devices.
The service, called MTN Cloud, will be available for R99 a month, payable with airtime and available to both pre-paid and post-paid customers.
According to MTN, information stored on MTN Cloud is encrypted to ensure security and the stored data won’t be screened, ensuring privacy.
The software will allow users to sync data across all their devices (smartphones, tablets, or laptops), and users can “access stored data from any preferred devices anywhere, anytime”, MTN said.
Any file format can be stored including documents, pictures, videos, and audio files.
Signing up
To subscribe to this service, MTN customers need to visit mtncloud.mtn.co.za from a browser and enter an email address.
Users will then receive an email with a link to complete the registration.
“Once a customer cancels their subscription to MTN Cloud, they have a 30-day window period to log on and retrieve their documents,” MTN said.
“Customers may not be able to add any new documents during this period.”
To access data on mobile devices, an MTN Cloud app is available.
The app is available on the Android and iOS operating systems, with compatibility on other operating systems still being finalised.
