Load shedding is back to stage 3

Power utility Eskom says that stage 3 load shedding will be implemented until further notice after three generating units failed over the past 24 hours.

The utility has also been unable to replenish its reserves, it said.

Stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from 20h00 on Sunday (24 September) and will continue until further notice.

Eskom had intended on keeping load shedding suspended for the duration of the long weekend, only to return to outages again from Tuesday.
