Inside Cape Town’s iconic Long Street hotel – on sale for R75 million

One of Cape Town’s iconic and quirky 4-star boutique hotels is up for sale for R75 million.

The Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel is located on Cape Town’s Long Street, and is famous for its Airstream rooftop trailer park.

The hotel provides accommodation, conferencing, functions, cinema, restaurant and bar. It has 26 rooms including two suites, 19 superior rooms, four standard rooms en suite, and one single en suite.

It also has seven vintage trailers on the roof top garden – all individually decorated by various artists. All the suites are air-conditioned, ‘incredibly well-insulated’, have hot and cold running water, flushing toilets and showers.

Prices for the Airstream Trailer Suite is R4,295 in the high season, and R3,195 during the low season. A standard room costs R2,895 in the high season, while the The Grand Daddy Suite is priced at R4,695.

The bar can accommodate 100-120 people, and can also be converted into a boardroom; catering for 16-20 people. The hotel also has a 90 seater Café/Restaurant.

The Hotel caters to four legs of clients; the foreign tourist market, the South African tourist market, the conference delegates as well as the corporate market being located in the heart of the CBD and around the corner from Parliament.

Pam Golding told BusinessTech that the hotel has attracted a lot of interest since going on the market at the end of last year.
