iBurst eyes SMEs with uncapped satellite broadband
iBurst has unveiled its VSAT uncapped service – an uncapped satellite broadband service with speeds of up to 16Mbps.
According to iBurst their new uncapped VSAT product is geared at providing businesses in all corners of South Africa with unrestricted access to broadband services.
“There are a number of satellite solutions on the market at present, but we are very confident that none has the kind of reach that this one will have,” said iBurst head of services, Ronald Bartels.
“Our service can literally be installed anywhere in Sub-Saharan Africa. It can also compete effectively with the terrestrial broadband solutions,” said Bartels.
The service will be offered in two forms including the VSAT Uncapped service and the VSAT Uncapped Plus service.
Some of the features include download speeds of up to 16Mbps, upload speeds of up to 1Mbps and various daily fair usage selections, including the ability to request large downloads during non-peak periods. The product will be suitable for a voice line.
iBurst said that it will launch its uncapped VSAT service this month (October 2013), priced between R1,000 and R5,000 per month.
