Eskom load shedding forecast for the week

Eskom says that there is medium chance that load shedding will be implemented during the day on Tuesday (17 March), with high risk moving into the evening.

Eskom has been reporting the same power status for a number of weeks – calling the grid “severely constrained” and vulnerable – but has been able to stave of load shedding in recent times.

The group, however, warns that any sudden loss of power on the grid would result in the implementation of rolling blackouts.

“Forecast for the rest of the week indicates that the system will remain extremely constrained, meaning that any extra load or faults in the system may necessitate the need to go into load shedding,” Eskom said.

The latest power bulletin details the expected supply and demand through to Sunday 22 March.
