Stage 1 load shedding Eskom

Eskom has announced that stage 1 load shedding will be implemented from 16h00 to 22h00 on Tuesday (7 April).

This, it said, is due to a shortage of generation capacity.

Earlier on Tuesday, Eskom said that power would remain under pressure for the entire week.

An Eskom spokesperson told News24 that the use of heaters over the chilly Easter weekend had placed an “unnecessary burden” on the grid.

The group called on customers to delay using heaters, as full-on winter was still two months away.

Load shedding schedules are available on its load shedding website for Eskom customers. Customers can also call 0860 037 566 for information.
