Businesses are moving to Mac – Here’s why

 ·17 May 2022

Businesses have increased their focus on cost savings, productivity, and access to information on demand – especially over the past two years.

This has resulted in a strong trend of businesses switching their entire workforce to the Apple MacBook ecosystem.

In fact, 84% of the world’s most innovative companies run on Mac, and a study by Forrester titled “The Total Economic Impact Of Mac In Enterprise: M1 Update” shows why.

The Forrester study evaluated the potential financial impacts and benefits of deploying Macs within businesses, and found that businesses which switched to MacBooks achieved 336% ROI and saved an average of $843 per device over a three-year lifecycle.

“The M1 Macs are just better in every conceivable way,” explained an IT director in the retail industry.

“We are getting a much better laptop with much more power and much longer battery life at a lower price point.”

The report also showed that decision-makers believe MacBooks are more compatible with their businesses.

“From my perspective, Mac is easier to deploy, it’s easier to maintain applications, and it’s easier to keep up the security,” said an end-user computing decision-maker in the healthcare industry.

Additionally, Forrester’s research found that when given the choice, 75% of employees choose Mac – making a MacBook-equipped office an attractive proposition for the highly-skilled employees businesses are looking to hire.

iStore Business

“South African businesses are realising that MacBooks provide incredible compatibility with all their existing business tools and systems, while offering premium hardware at a vastly superior return on investment than the other options on the market,” said Robert Kroger, Apple Business Manager at iStore Business.

“When you take into account factors like superior performance, brilliant compatibility, and reduced support and operational costs, there is no laptop on the market that provides a lower total cost of ownership than an Apple MacBook”.
