We got the opportunity to test this impressive vivo smartphone, and we were impressed with its ground-breaking design.

Design
The first thing you will notice when you see a vivo Y100 is its understated and classy design.
Its luxurious 3D design combines with vivo’s new Breeze Texture finish to give off a flagship-level first impression.
The vivo Y100 is also incredibly sleek – weighing only 186g and measuring 7.79mm thick – yet the best part apart this smartphone’s design is its ability to change colour.
By default, our Y100 was a light green colour, but when we exposed it to sunlight, it turned into a vibrant blue-green hybrid.
This isn’t only a cool party trick to show your friends and family. Both colours look fantastic, and switching between the two options keeps your user experience fresh.
The vivo Y100 is also available in Crystal Black if you prefer a smartphone with a simpler yet striking colour profile.
Display and camera
The vivo Y100 looks like a flagship, and it has an equally impressive display.
This 120Hz AMOLED screen offers an impressive 1,800 local peak brightness and a 91.9% screen-to-body ratio.
All of our favourite content looked great on this display, as did our test photos captured with this smartphone’s great camera system.
The rear camera system comprises a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP bokeh sensor, and you also get a flicker sensor that combines with these sensors to detect pulsating lights and negate their impact on your snaps.
An 8MP selfie camera rounds out the impressive vivo Y100’s photography capabilities.
It even supports dual-view video for vloggers who want to capture themselves and their surroundings at the same time.
Performance and battery
The vivo Y100 is a pleasure to use thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 octa-core chip.
When combined with the 8GB of RAM – extendable to 16GB when using storage space as virtual memory – all of our favourite apps ran smoothly – even when we forced a heavy multitasking load onto the Y100.
You are also treated to 256GB storage, which is extremely generous for a mid-range smartphone.
Great performance requires a great battery – and the vivo Y100’s 5,000mAh battery is the perfect solution.
It supports intensive tasks like YouTube streaming for 16.6 hours on a single charge, and when it needs to be charged up, you will benefit from 80W fast charge technology.
