Multi-sector strength in evidence at first Broll auction for 2025
The commercial property sector is set for recovery this year, riding a wave of capital value growth which started in the last quarter of 2024.
Broll Auctions and Sales will take 15 commercial properties from around the country to auction on February 20 at its first sale for 2025.
“We have a mixed bag of opportunities for prospective investors, with everything from Johannesburg’s oldest synagogue to a stunning events venue in Hilton, to the 22-storey Isivuno House in the Pretoria CBD and more going under the hammer,” said Norman Raad, CEO of Broll Auctions and Sales.

An incredible investment opportunity awaits at KwaZulu-Natal’s Hilton’s Amanguni Hills, a stunning venue with panoramic views overlooking the 1 000 Hills.
Nestled on the edge of Phezulu Safari Park, this expansive property boasts a combined erf extent of 80 000m², offering both a thriving event venue and massive development potential.
“This area has bright prospects for developers and investors alike for high-return developments given the demand for space in the area,” Raad said.

The Doornfontein Shul, colloquially known as the Lions Shul and built in 1906, is looking for a new owner. This designated Johannesburg Heritage Site is located on Siemert Road near the intersection of Doornfontein, Hillbrow, and Berea, and is zoned residential 4.
Permitted uses include religious purposes, educational centres, child care centre, sport and recreation clubs, public or private parking areas, medical consulting rooms, guest house or tavern.

In Gqeberha, a 4 970m² industrial-zoned manufacturing warehouse facility in Korsten is on offer. This well-located property has two warehouse sections and a five-ton gantry crane.
Businesses seeking a central position in one of Johannesburg’s most vibrant districts will be interested in 6 600m² of open-plan offices, with 67 secure parking bays in Braamfontein.
“This prime office space is situated close to key business and educational hubs, surrounded by retail amenities, with easy access to Gautrain’s Park Station.”

A prime commercial property in bustling Lonehill, Fourways, adjacent to the opulent Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre, presents a solid investment proposition.
Set on an erf measuring 3 244m² with a Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of 2 200m², this property has 90 parking bays, ground floor offices and is suitable for use as retail, office or showroom owing to its excellent exposure and visibility.

Moving to Pretoria’s CBD node, the 22-floor Isivuno House is a prime mixed-use retail and office commercial property, and a prime asset for larger tenants, and/or residential developers.
“This versatile property with a GLA of 23 600m² is zoned mixed-use commercial and would be ideal for a government tenant.”
“We’ve seen keen interest and enquiries online, and anticipate a solid turnout for our first multi-property auction of the year, especially given last month’s interest rate cut, Raad concluded.
The auction takes place on February 20 at noon at The Wanderers Golf Club in Illovo, Johannesburg.
