Ambitious Academy’s VEST course – Learn professional video content creation in two weeks
Ambitious Academy has announced an exciting new course for South Africans looking to expand their skillset into video content creation.
This new course is the Video Engagement and Skill Training (VEST) initiative and will cover the art of video creation from concept to completion in only two weeks.
Students will learn how to create content that connects with viewers – covering both business owners looking to promote their services, and content creators or influencers looking to build their personal brand.

What you need to know about VEST
VEST is a two-week full-time course that will run from 2-14 June 2025, with classes each weekday from 8:00 am to 16:00 pm.
The classes will be held at the Ambitious Academy at 2 Makro Place, Sunnyrock, Germiston.
Students will learn various filming techniques and strategies for producing superior video content with their smartphones.
Key themes that are covered include:
- Phone Setup – Optimise your phone for filming.
- Essential Gear – What you need for professional-quality videos.
- Lighting and scene setup – Make your shots look great.
- Storyboarding – Plan for your video.
- Camera work – How to capture the best shots.
- Audio balancing – Keep audio crisp and sharp.
- Colour grading and editing – Polish videos like a pro.
All these topics are provided across three distinct training stages to accommodate students’ different skill levels.
The first is the VEST Rookie stage, which starts learners with the basics of phone setup, lighting, composition, and filming fundamentals.
The VEST Pro stage allows students to expand their skills by learning scene planning, camera movement, clean audio, and editing techniques to make videos shine.
Finally, VEST Master helps students craft videos that inspire action, focusing on storytelling, branding, pacing, and social engagement strategies.
