A South African founder was sick of board packs flying around on Gmail. So she built the fix.

Long before “remote working” was a phrase anyone used, a South African entrepreneur was quietly solving a problem the rest of the world wouldn’t take seriously until a pandemic forced it to.
Zeldeen Muller, CEO of inSite Connect, created AgendaWorx.com in 2009, the better part of a decade before Covid emptied the world’s offices.
It launched in 2011, nine years before “let’s just do it online” became the only option anyone had. Back then, she says, only a handful of board members suspected there had to be a better way.
“Remote working wasn’t a trend; it was almost unheard of,” Muller recalls. “We were building for a way of working most people couldn’t picture yet.”
What she could picture, all too clearly, was the chaos. The 300-page board pack landing thirty minutes before a high-stakes meeting. The secretary who had spent three days assembling it by hand.

“I’d lived it as an employee benefits consultant in my twenties,” she says. “I wasn’t designing a product from the outside. I was designing my way out of a job I used to be drowning in.”
But surely AI can just do this now?
It’s the obvious question in 2026: if the technology can draft minutes in seconds, why does a platform that’s been at this for seventeen years matter? Can’t a new tool simply build a faster way to do the same thing?
Muller doesn’t dodge it. “AI can produce a set of minutes quickly, yes. But speed isn’t the hard part. Knowing what a board actually needs, how a resolution has to be worded, what a board member is legally on the hook for, where the real risk hides in a pack, that comes from years of sitting in those rooms. You can’t shortcut that. It’s the difference between fast and right.”

“The bulk of what you see today started as a request from a user. Someone said ‘I wish it could do this’, and we built it. It’s shaped by the people who live inside it every day.”
The clearest measure of impact, she says, is the secretaries. “Those are the people who used to sweat over board packs and minutes every single day. AgendaWorx.com is helping them claim back their time, moment by moment, meeting by meeting. That’s the part I’m proudest of.”
