Wayne De Nobrega leaving Altech

Wayne de Nobrega, the former CEO of Altech Technology Concepts, is leaving Altech Autopage Cellular to “find a new challenge”.
De Nobrega started Technology Concepts in 1999, and grew the company into a strong player in the bonded ADSL and ISP market.
Big players started to take note of Technology Concepts, and in April 2009 Allied Technologies Limited (Altech) acquired the company at a “maximum purchase price of R45 million”.
Technology Concepts was renamed to Altech Technology Concepts (ATC), and de Nobrega served as CEO of the company, responsible for integrating the company into the Altech ecosystem and transforming it into a tier one ISP.
In March 2012, Altech Autopage Cellular acquired Altech Technology Concepts as part of a plan to offer converged communication products and services to retail consumers and small- and medium-enterprises.
As part of the newly formed company between ATC and Altech Autopage Cellular, de Nobrega took on a new innovation and strategy role in the merged entity, reporting into Boyd Chislett, CEO of the new entity.
The former ATC CEO was instrumental in the amalgamation of the companies, and with this project now successfully completed, De Nobrega has now announced that he will leave the company to “find a new challenge”.
The former ATC CEO said that he has no immediate business plans, adding that he is still under restraint of trade with Altech.
However, De Nobrega is well-known as a serial entrepreneur and it is likely that he will emerge with another project in the local ICT space soon.
