Kalahari.com shuts its doors
If you navigate to Kalahari.com, you will be greeted with a message that the site is currently unavailable.
“We are performing essential site maintenance,” the error page says.
However, earlier this month Kalahari confirmed that it will be shutting up shop at the end of April 2015 following its merger with Takealot. All products requiring a supplier lead time were delisted on 20 April 2015.
A customer service representative in Kalahari’s call centre has confirmed that the Kalahari site is not just down for maintenance, but has been closed for good.
Kalahari clients who shopped on the site after September 2013, have an e-book on Kalahari, or have account credit will have their accounts transferred to Takealot.
Takealot said that all outstanding orders placed through the Kalahari website will be delivered by Kalahari.
“Any changes in delivery will be communicated to you beforehand,” Takealot said.
The Takealot site was also down at the time of publication, and a spokesperson could not be immediately reached for comment.
