EOH buys rail tech firm
Listed ICT group, EOH has acquired rail automation and technology company, Mehleketo.
Mehleketo has a turnover of over R300 million, technology partnerships with the major international rail automation technology OEM’s and about 350 employees.
The group focuses on rail signaling, communications engineering and systems integration in South Africa and has a number of long-term project and maintenance and support contracts with the major operators in the country.
According to EOH Group CEO, Asher Bohbot, the acquisition is part of the company’s growth strategy.
“Our Industrial Technology division, of which rail technology is part, is a major component of our growth strategy.”
“This division’s services, which are critical for the infrastructure development required in South Africa and the rest of Africa, include services and solutions in energy, water, connectivity and transport / rail,” he said.
