Comp Commission approves Adapt IT acquisition of Micros

The Competition Commission has approved the proposed acquisition of Micros South Africa Group, by JSE-listed Adapt IT, for R61.3 million.
The Micros group provides software, hardware, enterprise systems integration, consulting, support and solutions to its clients, primarily in the hospitality industry.
Adapt IT said that the acquisition of Micros creates an entry into the hospitality industry, further diversifying the group.
The commission said that the proposed transaction is unlikely to substantially prevent or lessen competition in any market in South Africa. “In addition, the proposed transaction does not raise any public interest concerns.”
