Financial services group Old Mutual (OML) has concluded a new R2.58 billion Infrastructure Management deal with ICT solutions and services provider, T-Systems.

In 2008, T-Systems signed a five-year, R1.8 billion contract, known as Project Rosa, for the supply and maintenance of IT infrastructure to the Old Mutual Group.

The new deal, referred to as Equinox, replaces the existing Rosa deal and the contract extension runs until 2019.

The latest deal represents an industry leading outsourcing approach, and is one of the largest IT infrastructure deals of it nature in the insurance industry in South Africa.

“This partnership will accelerate Old Mutual’s ability to deliver on its commitment to improving customer service, and increasing IT operational efficiency,” said Richard Boynett, CIO for Old Mutual Long Term Saving IT.
