Gijima COO resigns
Listed ICT company Gijima Group (GIJ) on Friday (March 2, 2012), announced the resignation of its chief operating officer and executive director, Debbie Zwane-Chikura, with immediate effect.
The group said Zwane-Chikura had left the company to pursue other interests.
As an interim measure, the operating divisions of the company will report to CEO, Jonas Bogoshi.
Gijima also announced the appointment of Mark Bussin as a non-executive director to the board with immediate effect.
Bussin is an expert in remuneration matters with a wealth of experience and has been serving as a member of the company’s remuneration and nomination committee since 2009.
Last month Gijima pointed to an improvement in its cash balance to R199 million, from R86 million before.
The group returned to profit, reporting diluted headline earnings per share of 3.11 cents for the six month ended December 2011 after a loss of 28.13 cents a year ago.
Revenue increased by 7.5% to 1.337 billion, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation reflecting an 83.5% at R78.2 million.
