Samsung joins Black Friday 2017 with massive deals

 ·23 Nov 2017

Black Friday, a day for big sales in the US, has spilled over to South Africa and to Samsung, with the company launching deals from Friday, November 24, 2017 through to Sunday.

The Korean technology giant has invited shoppers to register at its website, to be informed of what the Black Friday specials will be, with several already launched.

“We specifically created this campaign in response to an overwhelming demand for our premium products. We are building on best global practices and with this implementation we are taking a distinct cue from the Black Friday promotion in the US,” said Justin Hume, Samsung marketing director.

Hume explained that consumers could expect to see ‘massive discounts’ on premium products – specifically QLED televisions – in Samsung brand stores and other retailers.

Other deals include a first time ever offer of a Samsung 55” Curved UHD TV under R10,000 (model UA55MU7351) and a Galaxy J5 Pro for R3,699, at a saving of R1,000.

Samsung earlier this week announced that it now offers a door-to-door repair service for its appliances and electronics, MyBroadband reported. Customers with a technical problem may request a Samsung service van for a quick repair of their product.

The service vans are equipped with all the necessary equipment to solve common problems, and customers can expect a van to arrive the day after their issue is reported.

Samsung’s door-to-door repair service has rolled out in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town, and will be extended to other major centres in the future.

To book a repair, customers must call the Samsung support centre and will be guided through a troubleshooting process before a technician is dispatched.

“We want to ensure that all our clients receive the care they need and expect of us,” said Samsung South Africa.
