Top banking and telecoms brands in SA
The Mail & Guardian has released its Top Companies Reputation Index (TCRI), revealing the top brands in the telecoms and banking sectors.
The study, which was conducted by Plus 94 Research, assesses the “reputations which companies have established with South African consumers”.
The most reputable businesses in South Africa are rated according to their “reputation index” score (out of 100).
Banking
According to the index, Standard Bank not only has the best reputation amongst banks in South Africa, but ranks second overall, behind only Coca Cola.
FNB is ranked second in the banking sector, followed by Absa in third and Old Mutual in fourth.
Nedbank marginally beats out Capitec bank to make it into the top five.
FNB placed sixth, overall, while Absa placed eighth in the top 10.

Telecoms
According to the research Vodacom has the best reputation in the telecoms sector, followed by MTN, Telkom SA. Cell C and 8ta.
Vodacom and MTN was ranked at number 3 and 4 respectively when looking at overall results.
