MTN takes cheaper calls to Africa

MTN has introduced its lowest international call rate promotion to selected African destinations for as little 75 cents per minute.

This adds several “key” African countries to the promotion announced on 10 September, which will be running until the end of the month.

MTN customers will now be able to make calls to Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria, Lesotho and Swaziland at the new rates, which range between R0.75 and R8.99.

The following table, provides an overview of MTN’s lowest international call rates into Africa.

MTN SA chief marketing officer, Brian Gouldie said that the promotional countries were extended after MTN observed a need amongst a large base of its customers to make calls to African countries.

The new international call rates are all billed on a per second basis.

The promotion started on 8 September 2013, and the new rates will be available until the end of the month of September 2013.

Other countries that are part of the 75 cents promotions include: Bangladesh, China, India, Portugal, Belgium, France, Netherlands, UK, USA, Canada and Germany.

The new international call rates are only available to MTN PayAsYouGo and MTN Zone TopUp customers.
