Porsche reveals South African pricing for its all-electric Taycan

Porsche’s first purely electrically driven sports car, the Taycan, has its price tag for the South African market.

Three models will be sold locally, the Taycan 4S, the Taycan Turbo, and the Turbo S.

The flagship Turbo S version of the Taycan can generate up to 560 kW overboost power in combination with Launch Control, and the Taycan Turbo up to 500 kW.

The Taycan 4S has a range of up to  301 kilometres, the Taycan Turbo (346 km), and the Taycan Turbo S up to 327 kilometres.

“You are instantly greeted by the familiar Porsche feeling – coupled with the latest technologies,” the German carmaker has assured its clients.

The Porsche Advanced Cockpit boasts a fully digital 16.8-inch curved display, integrated 8.4-inch centre console control panel and 10.9-inch central display.

The entry level Taycan 4S starts at R2,586,000 which buys the following:

  • Up to 320kW (435PS)
  • Up to 390kW (530PS)
  • Overboost Power with Launch Control
  • 640Nm maximum torque with Launch Control
  • 0 to 100km/h in 4.0 seconds with Launch Control
  • Top speed of 250km/h

The Taycan Turbo is priced from R3,426,000, which buys the following:

  • Up to 460kW (625PS)
  • Up to 500kW (680PS)
  • Overboost Power with Launch Control
  • 850Nm maximum torque with Launch Control
  • 0 to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds with Launch Control
  • Top speed of 260km/h
  • Performance Battery Plus

The Taycan Turbo S is priced from R4,027,000, which buys the following:

  • Up to 460kW (625PS)
  •  Up to 560kW (761PS)
  • Overboost Power with Launch Control
  • 1,050Nm maximum torque with Launch Control
  • 0 to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds with Launch Control
  • Top speed of 260km/h
  • Performance Battery Plus

A custom paint job can add R58,000 to the total, with personalised leather interior costing more than R50,000. 21-inch Taycan exclusive design wheels with Aeroblades Carbon, will add nearly R100,000 to the price. A mobile charger connect cable for home use will cost around R25,000.
