Rugged SUV showdown – Ford vs Toyota vs Mitsubishi vs Isuzu

One of South Africa’s most popular car manufacturers has announced a new 2022 R1 million edition of its popular SUV, the Ford Everest.
The new Everest is said to blend adventure with comfort and customer-focused technology. Both of its new configurations are launching at roughly R1 million, with the Everest Sport at R965,400 and the top-of-the-range Everest Platinum at R1,113,100.
The “older” staple model now sits between R588,300 and R877,300, according to Ford, significantly less than the Next Gen version. Ford’s competitor Toyota is yet to release an updated Fortuner; however, its current offering caps off at R870,900.
In July, 21 out of the top 50 best-selling cars in the country were SUVs or cross-overs, reported the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers South Africa (Naamsa).
