BMW is on a big hiring drive in South Africa – and it’s looking for these skills

German car manufacturer BMW is on a hiring drive for skilled technical people in South Africa to join its IT division.
The BMW IT Hub is the fastest growing business unit in the BMW Group and aims to provide 2,000 jobs by 2023.
Based in South Africa, the hub provides IT solutions for a variety of business areas in the BMW Group, focusing on innovation topics and comprehensive IT solutions such as development and operations for SAP, Java, and Azure.
BMW said it would host talent days in the country on 27-28 August 2022 with a specific focus on full stack developers and DevOps specialists on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
“The BMW IT Hub is looking for suitably qualified consultants on an assignment basis to support the hub through BMW Group South Africa’s approved Temporary Employment Service Providers (TES).
“Successful consultants will develop global solutions for the BMW Group in artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous driving and other ground-breaking digitalisation fields.”
Specific technical skills that the group is looking for include:
- Backend Development;
- Frontend Development;
- Architecture and/or DevOps;
- Data Streaming;
- Microservices;
- SmartOperations.
