Vodacom Business will boost their broadband access product range with new wireless and fibre connectivity options. This is word from Janine Rebelo, executive head of access services from Vodacom Business.
Rebelo told MyBroadband BusinessTech that the company will launch new access services aimed at the business market, including wireless (Wi-Fi) and fibre products.
The carrier grade Wi-Fi products will use 5.8GHz spectrum, providing clients with reliable, high-speed connections.
Vodacom Business is also planning to roll out their own fibre network to provide businesses with fibre connections. This initiative is in-line with Vodafone’s roadmap to provide fibre to the premises (FTTx) and fibre to the home (FTTH) services, to support bandwidth-intensive applications.
Vodacom Business already offers a wide range of access services – including ADSL, leased lines, satellite connections and mobile broadband connectivity – but Rebelo says that the additional access options will help to boost their competitiveness in the telecoms market.
These new high-speed connections will further support Vodacom’s new unified communications products and cloud services.
Vodacom Business’ executive head for managed network services, Gary Hart, highlights that reliable, high-speed connections are needed to support bandwidth-intensive applications like business-grade video conferencing and other multimedia offerings.
