Cell C appoints permanent CFO

Cell C has announced that El Kope will be its permanent Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director for Finance.

Kope was named Acting CFO in August 2023, with the group crediting her for significantly improving governance, stabilising the finance department and strengthening relationships with critical stakeholders.

“Under El’s leadership, Cell C achieved several key milestones, materially improving governance
structures and instituting the correct methodologies resulting in revenue enhancement,” Cell C said.

Kope is Chartered Accountant and joined the group in September 2022 as the the Executive Head for Financial Planning & Analysis.

She previously worked for DHL, Coca-Cola Africa SA Breweries, and played a central role in Tsebo International’s $150 million turnover.

“El has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic financial and business acumen, and I cannot be more pleased about her well-deserved appointment,” said CEO Jorge Mendes.

“I look forward to her ongoing contribution as we drive our growth and reposition Cell C for long-term sustainability.”
