A driving expert says that the majority of minibus taxi drivers in South Africa are better drivers than general road users.

In an interview with News24, Eugene Herbert from driver safety company, Masterdrive, said: “I believe that most taxi drivers are better drivers than you and I.”

Herbert inferred that taxi drivers were made to drive cars that were mostly unroadworthy everyday. He stressed that they weren’t necessarily safer drivers; however, he called for a mind shift when it comes to using the road in the country.
