Watch: Nasa’s humanoid robot in action

 ·1 Dec 2015

New video footage has emerged of US space agency NASA’s new R5 humanoid robot, also known as Valkyrie.

NASA originally designed the robot for disaster relief operations, however, it said last month that it will send it to Mars and other space locations.

Valkyrie stands at 6 feet tall and weighs 290 pound (125 kgs).

NASA has awarded one robot to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and one to Northeastern University, to conduct additional research and development into how humanoid robots can aid space exploration.
