Unison targets UK, local expansion
SA-based enterprise communications management (ECM) company, Unison says it will target the UK for international expansion in 2012, while local plans would include doubling its revenue, and staff content.
The company said it currently employed 40 people and would aim to take that headcount to 80 in the short to medium term
Keith Jones, Director of Strategic Business Development for Unison, said the shift in the communications market from fixed line to Voice over IP and to mobile has been remarkable and happened very quickly.
“Our development team in Cape Town has spent the last two years redeveloping our whole platform to cater for these shifts and 2012 will see these plans come to fruition”.
Jones said the company already has a strong international footprint, with sites deployed in over twenty countries and regional representation in Namibia.
“Our focus for 2012 will be the UK market,” he said, confessing that while the market was not booming, it remains economically sound and businesses there are generally trading well.
Regarding the local market, Jones boasted in excess of 60% of the top 500 Companies in South Africa as customers for Unison, managing more than 2.5 million extensions and devices.
